Frequently Asked Questions

Why is there a different KeyNamics Product for Power Pages?2023-06-21T20:29:07+01:00

KeyNamics for Power Pages is a separate KeyNamics product to enable Power Pages portals (version 9.0+) to launch Keyfax self-service repairs and enquiries. Housing associations can now simplify the repair and enquiry process for tenants by offering context aware, intelligent online diagnostics to consistently help tenants through any enquiry or repair.

How does KeyNamics get integrated into Power Pages?2023-06-21T20:29:29+01:00

KeyNamics for Power Apps portals can be embedded on a Portal page in a couple of ways: Minimal where Keyfax is launched via a simple hyperlink from the portal page and results are handled via a Power Automate Flow. Entity Form where Keyfax is launched via an entity form and the results are handled via field mappings to update the form, or via a Power Automate Flow.

How does FetchXML help with intelligent diagnostics scripting?2023-06-21T20:29:54+01:00

FetchXml defines a request to the Dynamics database (not unlike a SQL query) by specifying which Entity Set you would like to query. E.g. account, contact etc. It also defines the fields you want to be made available on each entity that the query returns in its results. That provides a wide range of information that may be useful in the Keyfax diagnostics to assist the tenant with their enquiry.

How do I migrate Settings, Mappings and FetchXML queries from one D365 organistation/instance to another?2023-06-21T20:30:31+01:00

This is possible by using the Microsoft Configuration Migration tool. Whilst there isn’t room here to explain, Omfax technical staff will happily work with you to assist you, or carry this out for you, so that KeyNamics is present in up to three Environments (e.g. Live, Test & Train).
